Andrea Mongenie β€˜s practice spans painting to set design and murals. It centres on the interaction between shape and colour, balance and discord, light, texture and movement. The power of her final compositions relies on a sense of ritual: a lengthy process of colour mixing, resulting in the inexplicable harmony of colour, objects and place. With every painting Andrea aims to achieve a deep inner serenity, calm and warmth.

Born in Paris, Andrea studied fine art and then fashion and printed textiles at University of the Arts in London. She worked as a set designer and art director in London for 10 years before returning painting in 2016. She made the shift to working as a full time artist in 2019. After 15 years in London, she recently moved back to Paris, where she currently works from her studio in Nogent Sur Marne.
